This week was a big one—it was the first week I’ve traveled for work post-baby! Not only was I doing my usual packing balancing act with my entire makeup kit, but I was also traveling with my four-month-old “makeup assistant.” Shockingly, everyone lived!
Behind the scenes at one of my favorite shoots of the week
The addition of the baby made my already tricky packing adventure… overwhelming. Getting a work bag packed under 50 pounds is extremely challenging for me as my everyday makeup kit is absolutely heavier. I know, I know, I’m just being honest. Judge away. To make things even more complicated, I needed to account for my clothing including a look for an event, plus enough baby outfits to provide a buffer against any potential disasters. I really wanted this trip, so I had to make it all work AND be able to carry everything myself.
In order to pull this pack off and not forget anything vital, choosing multitasking products was essential. What follows are items I consider essential multitaskers that made my ultimate packing list.
When the model gets better BTS shots of your kit than you do

Behind-the-scenes techniques to enhance your makeup routine
Henne Organics Luxury Lip Balm
I love this lip balm in all its forms: tinted, in a stick, and in the pot. For this trip I selected the pot for its multifunctionality. I used it on my lips, cuticles, and on the baby’s dry spots on and off the plane. It’s the best balm/salve ever.
Chanel La Crème Main Texture Riche
Hand cream is an in-flight must. This one has the most beautiful packaging ever and has a seamless easy-open lid with no twisting needed—nothing better than something both glamorous and unfussy. The cream itself is delicately scented and absorbs quickly, hydrating deeply without a greasy after-effect.
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré Sensitive
The original cream is a classic, but this new one is can’t-live-without great. It’s fragrance free and was developed for infants. I carry it in my kit because there’s no way anyone is allergic to it, which gives me peace of mind. Use it on yourself, your body, and even your kids. It’s an essential in any household.
Lilfox Aphrodite Rose Quartz Toning Mist
There’s nothing better than a mist for flights—it’s the perfect shot of moisture before, during, and after. This one is super glam—it’s the loveliest rose water supercharged with the beautifying and loving energy of rose quartz… it’s a big “yes” to combat the stress of travel.
Chantecaille Faux Cils Longest Lash Mascara
I took this mascara of all mascaras because it layers really well. Not only does it leave lashes their longest and blackest, but you can easily add a layer post-flight to look extra fresh for work, an event, or for dinner once you reach your destination.
Dr. Harris Anti-Wrinkle Sleep Mask
This mulberry silk (aka the best silk) sleep mask has silicone dots on acupressure points of the face to help your body relax (really). Yes, it works. I love the black for extra light-blocking power. Find your zen in even the most unfamiliar zones.

U Beauty The Barrier Bioactive Treatment
I had to bring along one bit of luxury for just me—I couldn’t help myself. This trip I selected the U Beauty The Barrier Bioactive Treatment. It serves as the last step of your skincare routine at night. It’s so hydrating and refreshing, and is the perfect way to re-energize a travel-fatigued complexion.

Anna Bernabe, Celebrity Groomer (@heyannabee)
Anna is an incredible celebrity groomer (meaning she specializes in helping men look their best). She’s a genius packer and I often ask her advice for making my makeup kit smaller—something I’m terrible at. She’s always at the forefront of what’s new, plus she’s the sweetest and will always help a girl out.

Q: Who/what is your beauty inspiration?
Eva Oh. She is my spirit animal. Her voice and the way she speaks is confidence that demands presence with a touch of sensuality. I love her beauty: minimal makeup, gorgeous skin, with a bold lip and a body for days!
I’ve been thrifting since I was a teen and I love finding beauty through collecting random art, books, ephemera, clothes, and jewelry.
